Core elements of European FTT deal agreed

Last week, strong pressure from civil society push 10 countries to agree the core elements of the world’s first regional FTT.

3 states who had blocked the FTT’s progress changed their minds. Agreement has been reached on what will be taxed and how the tax will be collected.

There is strong intent to move forward without delay.

Officials have also been instructed to complete all remaining stages to sign-off FTT legislation in December.

The FTT is happening.

Find out more about what happened and what’s in store in the coming months…
