Be Outraged: There Are Alternatives
Stephany Griffith-Jones et al, May 2012
Be Outraged – there are alternatives! is a booklet written by an international group of economists and social scientists disheartened by the widespread austerity policies presently underway in Europe and elsewhere.
The authors call for a new economic approach including government action to promote growth and transform the financial sector from a “bad master to good servant”. It also calls for a tax on financial transactions (or Robin Hood tax) to control speculation and act as a valuable source of revenue.
